"I can do something purely of my own unselfish motivations, Sarah, the laws in your world do not apply to me, after all." He took a half step back, balancing the crystal ball between his fingers and making it all but dance as he moved it back and forth across his hand. "I want to open the world to you, Sarah. You are such an exceptional person, you could do so much, you could have so much, if you only just let me help you."
The crystal vanished and with it went his good will, so that he rose to his most intimidating stance. "Truly, are you still complaining about what happened ten years ago? You may complain all that you want, Sarah Williams, but you are lying if you do not admit, at least to yourself, that you wanted, no, needed what happened. What would have happened had you not wished your brother away? You would have remained tragically ordinary, in your little house with your disgusting parents, you would never have known that there is more to your world, more to any world, than meets the eye. You would have read your books and had your fantasies and then you would give them up to be extraordinarily NORMAL. Is that really the life you want? An average one?"
