Making a soft tsking sound, Jareth took a step closer to her.
"I only give people what they really want, Sarah. I am considerate enough to look beyond the cheap facade that they present to everyone else, I look into what they really want, and I give it to them." He paused for a moment, laughing softly in amusement. "And as I remember it, you weren't so subtle about what you wanted ten years ago. You wanted free of your screaming baby brother, you wanted a life where your gifts would be embraced rather than frowned upon. You wanted be become extraordinary. And after I offered you all of that, you turned your nose up, had a childish tantrum, and fled."
He ran a finger across the banister as he took a step closer. "But that is the past. You don't run a kingdom by dwelling on the past and I am here, once more offering you my help. I'm not going to steal away any other children, because you're far too old to think of doing that again." And far too boring in her adultness too. "I just want to offer you my assistance...for old time's sake. Here." A crystal ball appeared on his fingertips, and he looked at it contemplatively for a moment. "look in there, Sarah, and tell me what you see."
