Luke definitely didn't like the idea of his father doing anything dangerous. Granted, he knew that it happened, and he knew that being a pilot meant dangerous things, but it was one thing to know it and another entirely to be faced with the knowledge that his dad could potentially get killed. Of course, he was pretty sure that the older man was invincible, but there was always that chance.
So instead of thinking about it, he decided to let it go---for the moment.
"You're going to eat with us, right?" he queried, voice trembling the slightest bit and pale blue eyes huge and pleading in his face. (He would, no doubt, deny it later if asked about it.) "And then you can stay a while and help me figure out how to simulate a lightsaber crystal!" It was his current project, putting a lightsaber together from scratch---mostly because it was one of the few devices available that he'd never had much experience with.
