Max laughed. Not quite the response she'd been expecting, but she had to hand it to the kid. He had balls. He didn't really look like the ind of person who would hurt a fly to be honest, and she wondered if him intervening hadn't been his best idea ever.
"Right, whatever you say," Max said as she peered over her shoulder again. She blew a bit of hair out of her face and grinned after tucking it behind her ear. "I didn't rob them, by the way. They asked me if I wanted to play, and so I said it'd be more fun if we were playing for money. Happened to mention that I'd never played House of the Dead before, so they wanted me to go in on a bet to see who could get the highest score. Then they kept doubling it every time they lost. Idiots; they seriously didn't think they could get beat by a girl." She said it all with a pleasant smile as if she was particularly proud of her afternoon's exploits.
"See, this is what I get for being bored, four dumbasses and and a tiny knight in shining armour," Max said with a light laugh. "I'm Max."
