"Wait, what?" Cordelia immediately asked, her entire demeanor seeming to change in the blink of an eye. Her shoulders stiffened, her smile faded into a hardened expression, and she turned her attention to Angel so quickly that it was a wonder she didn't injure her neck.
"Darla," she said flatly. "It'd have to be. Spike wouldn't care and Darla's already shown an interest in her."
There was an undercurrent to her tone as she spoke of the vampires, an anger that hadn't been there moments before. No way in hell is she going to get her hands on Kathy, came the most determined thought she'd had since she'd returned.
"No way in hell is going to get her hands on Kathy," Cordelia repeated the thought a second later, even more determination in her voice than had been behind the thought itself.
