"We had a lot of help." Angel commented in regards to the trip being a success. It hadn't, not on his part, but the others had more than made up for that. It was an issue that he was going to have to deal with, he had some experience in that area, but he was refusing to let it get him down at the moment. there was still a lot to celebrate.
He should have known Peter would notice right away, he gave a small nod of his head, lips still curled in a slight smile. "I'm working on my tan. Look like your normal Californian." When Cordelia teased, he just shot her a smile, she had always been good at lifting his spirits when his mind focused on darker subjects.
They moved inside the hotel, which the lobby was surprisingly sparse of activity, just meant that Peter had been doing a good job on security. "I kinda learned my lesson after the last firing." That hadn't exactly been a shining moment in his life, but he thought it'd brought him and Cordy close in the end, and he could be thankful for that.
"Where is everyone? I..was hoping to see Kathy." Angel paused for a moment, no one else besides Peter and Cordelia was in hearing range, which was for the best. "Peter..don't tell anyone else about me, all right? I don't want them knowing I'm human yet."
