What: Annie wants to go outside.
When: Around 10AM
Where: The Hyperion

Status: In Progress
Even though she couldn't read, and even though most people barely took the time to speak to her, Annie was well aware of everything that had been taking place within the Hyperion lately. She knew Angel was gone, she knew Katara and Connor had left to get him back, and she knew Kathy was very upset over it all and didn't really want to be around anyone. She also knew that a few new people were there, and that one of them was in charge of something called security.
To Annie, security didn't make very much sense. It was a way for people to try to keep other people safe, but those people usually ended up angry or frustrated because of it. It wasn't normal for a human to be trapped inside somewhere, and when frustration set in they tended to ignore the rules and do as they pleased anyway. That led to more people going away, more people having to go get them, and more people being upset. Which, of course, led to more security. In her mind, it was all one big circle that gave her a headache to think about for very long.
Fortunately, though, her mind didn't stay focused on things like that for more than a few minutes at a time. It was far too busy being filled with other things - both imagined and real - and she was quite content to keep it that way. It was hard for her to stay in the here and now all the time, something that a lot of people here couldn't seem to understand. Not that many people back home understood that either. Except for Sister and Steve, that is.
Thinking about Sister hurt, so Annie tried not to do that much. Instead she focused on her drawings - childlike sketches predicting future events that only she could see and others didn't see fit to pay any attention to - and building her dominoes. She also played her music (although she did keep it down when in her room so she didn't disturb everyone around her too much) and, of course, there was the garden.
The lack of sunlight hadn't affected it very much. Annie had made certain the flowers continued to bloom and the plants kept right on growing. She had kept the fountain running and the iron gate clear of the ivy that wanted to take it over. She had also done most of that without ever even leaving her room.
Today, though, was going to be different. Annie was tired of being inside so she decided it was time to go visit her favorite place in the hotel. She silently left her room, bare feet barely making a sound on the hardwood floors and stuffed bunny clutched tightly in the crook of one elbow. Her senses went out, realizing that her path down the stairs, into the lobby, and through the doors leading out to the garden was mostly clear. Half of the people she'd pass wouldn't even notice her, and the others would probably just ignore the 'poor little retarded girl' (as she was often called, even if only in their minds).
So she set out on her quest. She was down the stairs and almost halfway to her destination, too, when she managed to spot the one person she knew who might give her an issue. It was the man, the not-a-hero-anymore man, who had taken over the security thing that she didn't quite understand. Coming to a stop, she studied him silently with a solemn expression, waiting for him to notice her and make his move. One way or another, though, Annie was going to her garden. It was just a question of whether she was going to have to take out half the wall in order to get there.
