Having been looking all about in an attempt to get her bearings, or at least determine in which direction to travel, Lucy's grin stayed in place as she turned to face the girl. This was certainly heartening, to be greeted by someone smiling so.
"Yes, it was a bit cold, though it is rather warm here, isn't it?" She shrugged out of her heavy twill jacket with a smile that showed no dismay at her predicament of being dressed so warmly and wet as well when it was this temperature even in the shade of the many trees. How strange. There weren't very many places in Narnia that had such temperatures, though in Calormen, it certainly was common.
But no, this girl hardly had the look of a Calormen and sounded rather English in addition, though her manner of dress was different from what Lucy currently wore.
"But I didn't intend to fall in, it... simply happened." Not knowing how far time had progressed here, Lucy was kindly exercising caution in explaining just how she had arrived here, as who knew what stories of old – she had long ago accepted her was 'of old' – those now alive even knew?
