Katara gave her a small smile of encouragement. "I know it's possible. I'm not taking anything less than success for an answer," she replied with a bit more confidence than she really felt at the moment. She knew she needed to be strong, though. Kathy was trying. Shouldn't she expect the same from herself?
Her features softened a bit at the request. "I'll be careful," she promised softly. "And you can stay wherever you'd like, Kathy. This place is your home. I dare someone to say differently." There was a hint of a smirk there, an attempt to lighten what had thus far been a quite somber conversation.
"A man named Peter is going to be in charge of security. If you have any problems, you let him know," Katara added after a second. "He's a good man and he'll make sure to keep you safe. Just stay inside, and before you know it I'll be back with both Angel and Cordelia." Even if it costs me my own life.
She didn't say that last part, of course, but the thought was still there. Katara didn't consider herself a martyr, nor did she want to die. But the fact remained that Angel and Cordelia were far more important to this city - and to the people of this hotel - than Katara could ever hope to be. So if it came down to her or them, they'd be returning first. She'd make sure of it.
