WHO: Prince Zuko & Mikaela Banes WHERE: gas station a few blocks from the hotel WHAT: tracking down a demon, duh WHEN: after this thread RATING: TBA STATUS: in progress...
Zuko had left the hotel after that Oz fellow had shown up, suddenly feeling uncomfortable being around someone who was automatically familiar to Cordelia. When he'd first met the seer, it'd been shortly after he'd arrived here and had demolished a post office box after a spat with the waterbender. It had taken a vision from her precious Powers That Be to let her know that he was one of the good guys. It wasn't jealousy, really, it was more...him not used to all of this. Being accepted and being around others that were part of the group. They'd just added Claire into the mix, now this guy? He wasn't good at socializing, even if he did have diplomacy training to fall back on. Holding a civil discussion with someone was one thing, making friends? Was something else entirely.
He walked for a few blocks, glaring at anyone who so dared to glance at his scar, finally reaching up to pull the sunglasses off of his head and over his eyes, in attempt to hide the part of his scar that wasn't hidden by his long black locks. And he walked on, pausing finally when he caught site of someone who was wearing a dark hood over their head and dressed in clothes he could've sworn he saw in one of those demon books he'd been flipping through in the hotel the other day. It wasn't until the prince saw the glow of the ice-blue eyes that Zuko knew it was indeed a demon and made a move to charge it.
The demon, however, was quick and a tail he hadn't known was attached snaked out from underneath the cloak it donned, tripping Zuko in mid-run and making him fall face-first towards the concrete. Zuko caught himself with his palms, though, his nose mere inches away from the ground, and quickly got to his feet, racing after the thing a bit more wearily.
Zuko ran quickly to a building next to the one the demon ran for, climbing quickly up the fire escape and to the roof, watching from above as it neared a what he knew to be a refueling station for the vehicles people used in this place. Drawing upon his stealth training, Zuko dropped soundlessly onto the roof of the area that prevented people from getting wet while they put gas in their cars if it was raining. He crept soundlessly to the edge, watching as the demon tried to sneak hide in the bed of somebody's truck.
His first instinct was to firebend at it, to just set it ablaze and be done with it all, when he remembered something crucial: gas was highly flammable. If he were to bend this close to it, he could very well make the whole place go up in flames. And that would be bad. Very bad. So, it looked like he was going to have to do things the hard way.
In a move that gained gasps from the people at the gas station, Zuko unsheathed his dao and dropped into the bed of the truck, slashing at the creature with his blades. It jumped on top of the cab and swung at the prince with it's tail, but Zuko jumped over it, landing gracefully on the thin ledge of the tailgate before back flipping to the ground below.
"Everyone get out of here!" He shouted suddenly, feeling more than a bit awkward as he actually took the time to warn people of the potential danger before them. "It's not safe!"
