That wasn't what she'd asked him to promise, but Jaina was too tired to point that out at the moment. Relaxing into the seat with a soft sigh, she rolled her head toward her brother as he slid into the driver's seat and offered his warning. Her lips quirked upward, believing him to be joking, and turned her attention back to the window beside her.
Less than ten seconds later she was yanking on her seatbelt with frenzied, awkward movements as she struggled with the device with just one hand. "Jacen!" she yelped as he drew precariously close to another car, only to cringe when he swerved around the vehicle and barely missed another one in the other lane.
"You're going to get us killed!" she exclaimed, her seatbelt finally buckling with a click and she pressed her hand hard against the ceiling, feet stomping desperately against the floorboard in an attempt to find some sort of invisible brake that would make her brother slow down.
So much for being tired. She'd be lucky if she ever slept again, as wound up as she was now.
