He watched her move to stand in front of him, an intake of air as that smell he mad misssed so much hit him once more. There had to be a word that meant more than miss. Because miss didn't quite explain the way he finally felt like he was coming up for air after weeks of being underground. He had tried so hard to forget those months when he had stupidly left her, but the past weeks had thrown it all back. That feeling of not being a full person, missing a part of himself, the good part.
Edward gave her a grin at her words, once again taken aback by how giving she could be. It still seemed so unfathomable to him that she saw enough in him to give up everything soley to be with him. He pressed a hand to her face gently, nodding. "No secrets," he promised.
He shook his head, but left his hand where it was, feeling the warmth of her skin below his. "No, not even Alice. I can't hear them, so they must be very far away. I can't phone, it won't connect. And I can't leave."
