"Oh, I'm less thick than human males, result!" he said sarcastically. He really hoped that was the least he could aspire to.
"Mm, we all do, actually," he nodded, slowly starting to become more aware of just how many times Rose had saved him, saved everyone... it was ridiculous that he'd started to take that sort of thing for granted. He gave her a look of shock when she started laughing. "Wha--?" he stopped short, his expression changing to one of amusement as he realised how ridiculous he must have sounded. It was only just hitting him this many years later. "Ok, ok! I got it eventually!" he said through his laughter; it was certainly contagious.
"I suppose so," he shrugged, "a vampire super-race, just what we need!" he said with a slight groan. This city was such a disaster area that he really didn't want to see it get any worse.
He smiled, and then placed a gentle kiss to the top of her head. It was a confusing situation to be in, romantically speaking, but he knew that his time with Rose was going to be limited. Romana had been a steady figure for many centuries, and it was good to know that she was going to be there once he had to let go due to the fleeting existence of his human companion. Although by human standards it may have seemed a little odd, it was only a matter of crossed timelines that would all work itself out eventually.
