As Sylar listened to everyone's ideas and plans, he felt as if he was only understanding half of it. All this talk of the Hyperion, the Powers That Be, Angel Investigations...much of it went over his head. Oh, sure, Charlie had already explained some of it to him the night she had first recruited him, but admittedly he hadn't paid as much attention as he probably should have. Not surprisingly, his mind had been preoccupied with thoughts of Claire Bennet, and especially Charlie's promise that Wolfram & Hart would help him finally get his hands on her.
Still, he had retained enough of what Charlie has said to at least have a slight understanding of what was being discussed here tonight. Quite frankly, he couldn't really care less about what Wolfram & Hart wanted, or any of these other people gathered here, for that matter. But if working with this group was the only way to accomplish his goals, then he was willing to give it a try. And it might have its perks, as well. By the sounds of things, some of those working for Angel Investigations might just have some "special gifts" of their own...gifts that he could possibly acquire for himself if he helped those here launch an attack.
He considered all of this in his own head, even as he listened to those around him. He was hesistant to raise his own voice, never having been one to work as part of a group. But it was that thinking, in fact, that caused him to respond to Luthor's comments.
"I agree that we all need to be on the same page if any of these plans are going to succeed...but we shouldn't get too focused on constantly working together. Anytime we are all together as one, that also makes us into just one target for Angel and his cronies to strike back at, if we somehow mess up and give them the chance. Perhaps if we split into smaller groups, each concentrating on a different part of the plan. Then we could hit them from multiple angles."
Sylar didn't bother to add that his real reason for this thinking was to have less of these people around him if and when he decided to strike out on his own and pursue his own goals, instead. Obviously, he felt it was better to keep that little bit of info to himself for now.
