She'd stepped away, but Peter clung to her hand anyway, squeezing tightly. Proximity was adequate for what he needed to heal his body. Physical proximity was what he was desperate for, to calm him and soothe him.
He held on, until he had to drop her hand in order to straighten out his left leg, pushing the bone back under his skin. His spine had managed itself, but his ribs were broken still... once he pushed them back in place, the skin healed over completely.
Two minutes after he'd come out of the ground, Peter was fully healed. That was Claire's gift. All he had to deal with now was severe blood loss, which would be corrected soon enough by the rest of his body. Then he could use the rest of his abilities safely.
He let out a breath and looked up at her. "Thank you," he said, getting to his feet to embrace her. "Thanks, Claire."
