Claire pulled as hard as she could. She had to help him. She was worried about him, seriously. She wasn’t that strong, but somehow she managed to pull him out. It was like one of those moments where a mother had so much adrenaline that they lifted a car off of their child.
Once she’d pulled him out, she stepped back a little to give him space. The condition that he was in was not good. Anyone else might have been sickened by what they saw, and Claire was a bit too, but it was kind of common for them. She didn’t know who had done this to him, but she swore she was going to make them pay. No one messed with Peter like this…no one.
“It’s gonna be okay…” she told him softly. She still needed to be strong for him.
