Veronica was screwed, completely and utterly screwed. The only one that probably noticed her missing yet was Backup, and he wasn’t exactly Lassie, even as smart as he was. And even if he did know the danger that she was in, no one there could talk to him, he’d probably just be whining at Kata and scratching at Veronica’s door, neither of which would be helpful in locating the teenager. And said teenager was in a lot of trouble.
Currently she was in chains, she’d been in pretty bad situations before…like when Aaron Echolls had locked her in a refridgorator that he was going to set on fire, or when Beaver tortured her with her own damn taser on the roof of the Neptune Grand, or when she’d been raped…but at least she was unconscious then. This was more trouble than she’d ever been in before. She had her bracelet, but she was too weak to use anything resembling super strength right now. Spike had beaten her down bad, and Veronica honestly was not sure how long she would last. She was in a lot of pain, and bruised and bloodied…it really was not a lot of fun for her.
She wondered if this was how Lilly felt before Aaron killed her, but Lilly had died quickly. That ashtray had cracked open her skull. Veronica’s torture was anything but quick. Being beaten by a vampire was not the most pleasant thing to experience, and she was scared too. She put on a brave front of course, but she didn’t know that she was going to get out of this…and even if she did, that she’d ever be the same as she was again.
This was insane, she was just a kid for crying out loud.
