Buffy knew what part of the team that she was best suited to, but she really wasn’t in the mood to play with others. Not when she felt so helpless like she did. Her best friend was evil, and once again…Buffy couldn’t do anything to stop her, and Xander didn’t even know what he’d done before. It was all looking a little bleak and hopeless no matter how inspiring of a speech Angel tried to give. They had people missing, people recovering from a snake attack, Willow was evil…it was like someone blasted a canon right into the heart of their operation.
Buffy was used to giving the orders more than following them, or else she was leading the charge. It wasn’t that she minded taking orders from Angel, but she did feel pretty damn useless, not being able to help Willow, and it was bothering her.
She stood in the back, almost in the shadows, with her arms crossed. She didn’t know if this was going to be enough, but they had to try…she guessed. It was sad that she was more concerned with getting Willow back than she was with getting the sun back.
Focus Buffy, the fate of the world is resting on this…Willow can wait…
But Willow almost ended the world before, and if she went that way again? They were all screwed. Every single one of them.
