The dark days seemed to filter past Edward with a surprising calm. Maybe it had something to do with knowing Bella was now alright, with her tucked away safely in his apartment he found the ability to relax somewhat. She still kept her job at the diner, and it wasn't rare to see Edward lounging near the back while she worked.
Tonight though he had branched out into the city, letting his mind open to those around him. The vampires in this place were quite different than him but no less bloodthirsty. He wasn't quite sure where the altuistic streak came but it had become habit for him to wander the streets, ready to step in if needed. The silly things turned to dust when you killed them, it was rather odd to him. Convienient though, not needing to tear the bodies apart and burn them.
The idea that there could be other versions of werewolfs also had occured to him. He'd been perusing the boards on his spare time (of which there was quite a bit) and come across a few such things. Also the large group of people who claimed to use magic. Edward, unable to read their minds over the internet, wasn't quite sure what to make of them. It was possible he supposed.
He shifted to look at Lavender when she entered, taking in the scene she caused with an expression of amusement on his face. He perked a brow at the mass exodus her outburst caused, watching the people flee. Raw steak. That was something one didn't see a young girl order often. At the thought of it he fet his own hunger rise slightly. A raw steak would be good.
The curiousity of the girl though outweighed the desire to feed and Edward found himself approaching her table. The worry of being a werewolf screamed at him from her mind. But she didn't smell like those dogs back in La Push. It was the oddest thing. Without asking permission he simply sat down in the seat in front of her and regarded the girl with topaz coloured eyes.
"Are you alright, Miss?" he asked, his voice smooth and velvetly.
