He had actually thought that Willow was taken care of. Not in the sense that she was dead, but in the way that suggested that he'd be able to make a quick and very much needed walk to the nearest exit. Spike had been on the verge of dashing to the first door he stumbled across merely seconds before Willow made her reappearance. "Oh, balls," he groaned. This didn't look good. Not for him, anyway. Spike knew well enough that Willow was just having a fantastic time with her little magic tricks and witty remarks. Fists balling up at his sides, Spike prepared himself for whatever it was that Willow was going to throw at him. A flaming ball of fire that couldn't be stopped until it reached it's target like the one that Buffy told him about? Zombies rising from beneath his very feet? Or would she buff herself up for a nice little fight? Spike honestly didn't know how well he'd be able to take it if he was beaten down by Willow when it came to the physical stuff. That would have been pretty sad on his part.
Either way, he didn't have room to worry about looking bad. Willow obviously didn't intend on going all kung fu on him. What she did do, however, caught Spike so off guard that he didn't even have a proper moment to defend himself. His eyes widened and his mouth fell open as soon as her fingers pushed through his skin. Jaw clamping shut, Spike grasped at her wrist and attempted to pry her from his body, but the work quickly went to waste. He felt something slipping away. The spark, the one that he had fought so hard to retrieve not too long ago. It was draining from him and there was absolutely nothing that Spike could to in order to make it stay. The warmth was gone. The pain, the worry, the eternal torment that he had brought upon himself for killing so many innocents. It was gone. He felt no pity. No shame. In fact, the only thing that he did feel was...a strange sense of complete and total satisfaction.
He lifted his head and stared off at Willow. Then, slowly but surely, a wicked grin began to spread across his face.
