The Doctor wasn't usually very good and taking orders, especially when they involved staying in the same position for any length of time. As he watched Susan navigate her way around the console he kept bobbing up and down, craning his neck to see what she was doing. Perhaps it was fortunate for Susan that every time he became too elevated the whole room would spin since that was the only factor keeping him reasonably stationary.
"It's this city, not the TARDIS!" he whined pathetically, although he knew he could hardly blame the state of the console room on the city, only the systems failures. "She's just become..." the Doctor waved his hands about as if that were the end of the sentence, and sighed loudly. "A dead-weight," he finished in a low voice, as if he didn't want the ship to hear him.
