Zuko's cheek flushed even more and his golden eyes narrowed at the response he got after telling her that he'd been dating Mai. Granted, he'd begun to see for himself that she had been keeping him entertained for Azula, to ground him in order to keep them on their side, but it didn't mean that it didn't still hurt. He'd thought someone cared for him, that this person who'd known him since he was young would be able to love him, but he'd been wrong. It was all a game. Always a game, continually toying with his emotions and his sense of reality. How sick his family was. It disgusted him.
"I deserved most of it," he told her, moving over to her and plucking the crossbow up off of the floor. "But, thanks."
He offered her a brief, semi-smile, placing the crossbow on the table with the other weapons. "Will you let me look at your nose now?"
