Katara made her way carefully down to the basement, eyes widening slightly at the spacious sparring area that was hidden beneath the hotel. Clearly, Angel took his training seriously. Which made her, of course, wonder why he couldn't just teach her these things. She'd healed his hands, which she had thought made up for the fact that she'd nearly attacked him with holy water. So why was he punishing her by forcing her to learn weapons from Zuko?
With a heavy sigh she placed the short sword and battle axe on the table, turning to him with the crossbow still in her hands. She realized, with two hands, it was much easier to hold the weapon. Much more natural-feeling.
Looking around once more, her gaze finally met Zuko's almost nervously. They were now alone in a secluded area that was smaller than the lobby. If he was planning something, now would be an opportune time to act considering both of her hands were occupied with the weapon. Therefore, reaching the water in her pouch would take a few seconds longer than usual as she'd have to first get rid of the crossbow.
"Okay," she spoke, if only to remind herself that she wasn't at his mercy. "So, what first?" Even though Katara fought hard to keep her tone neutral - possibly almost bored - she couldn't quite mask the underlying excitement she was feeling. This was something she'd wanted to do most of her young life, if only because she hadn't been allowed. Part of her wished Sokka was there so she could show him once and for all that she wasn't completely hopeless when it came to fighting with things other than Waterbending.
