She didn't even stir at the sound of her window shattering, nor did she move when she was shaken. It wasn't until she heard his voice that she finally began to come to. Her eyelids felt so heavy that it took her a few seconds before she finally managed to get them open and, even then, her eyes were glazed over and slightly unfocused.
Her brow furrowed as the person beside her slowly began to come into focus. Her brain seemed sluggish, unwilling to connect the face with a name for a moment, but eventually she managed a soft, "...Ani?" Then she frowned slightly. "Oh," she murmured, "no. You aren't him." Heartache swelled within her to the point she thought she might choke on it.
"Why are you here?" Padmé questioned suddenly, reality beginning to re-assert itself for her slowly but surely. "Why can't you just leave me in peace?"
