WHO: Darth Vader and Padmé Amidala WHAT: The most unlikeliest of rescues. WHEN: Mid-morning WHERE: Padmé's room at the Hyperion to start with. RATING: TBD STATUS: In Progress
The pain from the snakebite was unlike anything Padmé had felt before. It wasn't the most painful experience of her life - her death had hurt much, much worse - but the searing agony and constant burning sensation that was slowly seeping its way through her veins was almost more than she could bear.
It was the right calf that had received the bite but by the time she'd made her way to her laptop on her bed, she had already lost the ability to move the entire limb. Sending out a request for help - and realizing through her pain that the entire hotel was currently under attack by these creatures - all she could do once she'd finished was lay there and hope someone came to her aid.
Laying back against the covers she stared up at the ceiling and tried not to think about the pain and dizziness. It was hard, though, and as the minutes ticked by she was starting to lose the battle. Her eyes slid closed and her breathing became shallow. Every so often she'd suck in a breath sharply and re-open her eyes, reminding herself that she had to hang on for the child growing in her womb, but all too soon she'd be back in the barely conscious state waiting for death to arrive and both wanting it and dreading it at the same time.
It was during this last time of pulling herself back to the hear and now that she realized she wasn't alone. There was another snake that had somehow found its way into her room and it was slowly but surely slithering its way across the mattress toward her.
Essentially paralyzed throughout most of her body by this point, there was nothing Padmé could do but lay there and wait for the inevitable to occur.
