Mary was in what could only be described as nesting mode. Every blanket she folded months before had to be refolded and put in a different drawer so that it would be more convenient, every item of clothing she and John had received for Megan had to be rewashed because the material felt scruffy and too new. She was worried about everything from the color of the room to the toys and rattles to the diaper bag she had decided to use...but most of all she was just worried. The odd thing about her situation was that she remembered the time she had spent as a ghost in her own home, so the Sam's baby years just seemed so long ago, and she half worried that she had forgotten everything about how to handle a baby, that something would go wrong... She cleared her throat, looking up from the blankets she was refolding to where John was working on the changing table. His quiet presence, the sounds of him working and occasional glances his way helped calm her in a way little else had been able to. John had always been her strength, and she needed him more now than ever. She admired the work he had done for a long moment, imagining how the changing table would look when he was finished.
