Clark would probably be very impressed with that new trick... if Lex was not a problem at the moment. It seemed liked he was trying to get under Bart's skin, and his as well. But it also looked like that ploy wasn't working. "You'll have to excuse him, Bart. He really is deluded. It's that whole thing with the Veritas group, Oliver knows about it too. Just because I didn't trust him, he thinks he was born to stop me.. for some odd reason."
Lex shouted, his eyes looking crazy for a moment, "You turned your back on me!! How many times did you lie to me? You said we would always be friends! You lied.. turned against me instead of believing. You gave up! Warrior Angel would never do that. You.. make up some excuse whenever I asked how you did something? At least when Zod was in me, I was honest with Lana about my new powers. You lied to her too for so long. And it wasn't enough, no.. you had to take HER away as well. Did you know that I had her? And it was.. it was great, wish you'd been there.."
"I did first," Clark retorted, not daring to take one little step forward. Even if he wanted to stop him. "You're not a good man. You told me it had to end that way, back up north, that we'd have been brothers if I trusted you at the start. And yet you killed your own father." He looked at Bart then, hearing the whisper. "Invisible," he mumbled back. He knew his friend would take that to mean being too fast for Lex to see.
Lex was not pleased. He raised his fist, wanting to smash Clark's face again. Things were going so much better before the intrusion. He glared at Bart and said with a certain snark, "You know he's just going to hurt you all again. He does that. Trust me, as his former best friend, I know what I'm talking about. And this place, he's holding everybody back with blind morals.. when stealing, lies, subterfuge, and killing the enemy... that is the only way to succeed. Right after I kill him! Send me regards to Zod, Kal-El!!" And that was his big mistake. He was actually foolish enough to try walking past Bart to hit Clark.
