Why didn't she hate her? Or did she hate her? Buffy didn't even know what the hell she thought of the other Slayer. There were no words to even describe the connection, the tension, the rivalry, whatever it was they had. Buffy shrugged. "Hating her doesn't do me any good." at least not now, though there were times when she had controllable anger toward the other slayer. "I almost killed her once, and it didn't make me feel any better." and because of that she'd almost died to save Angel. Who had almost died because of Faith. "So hating her isn't going to do me any good now." though she could feel other less than happy feelings toward her, that just weren't hate.
"Yeah, you're going to have a hard time getting it back too. I mean, it's Faith and Sam that are your biggest worries, right?" she asked, her fingers reaching out to touch the holy water. "I sort of saw your conversation online, it was public." not that meant to intrude, but she saw the conversation between Faith and Ruby. "Faith and I haven't got along since we first really met, and then it was only briefly. I don't know why but she always seems to look at me as her biggest judge, judging everything she does. She built her life when I wasn't here. But you're still under the eyes of your biggest judges, aren't you? You'll have it a lot harder than she did."
No, Faith being in charge didn't make any sense to her. But it had been given to her by a person who hadn't known her back then, who only knew the Faith that came to LA, even if he had known the back story. Xander might have been here, but Xander wasn't going to stop Faith. Angel was Faith's friend, as was Spike. Those people she had hurt the most hadn't been here judging her along the way in her climb to power.
"Sure." she said with a shrug, taking her fingers out of the water. "Anytime." people screaming usually did make her come running. Flicking the water off of her hand, she turned to look toward the door she had come in.
