Time seemed to come to a crashing, screeching halt at that particular scene. For a heartbeat, the car was silent save for the low hum of the engine and the patter of the rain on the windows.
"That's it," Cordelia finally stated flatly. "Enough with the freak show. I'm out of here." And with that, she yanked off her high heeled shoe and smashed it into the window. There was a loud shatter as the glass finally gave way and a roar as air began rushing into the backseat of the car.
Not caring what speed they were going, or even what area they were driving through, Cordelia was instantly on her knees and making a dash for the now-open window. If she could get out of the car, she might stand a chance. At least, that's what she was betting on.
