"We can offer you a place to stay if needed, there are rooms here until you can go out on your own, or you find something better." she kept herself positioned at the desk, fingers holding loosely to the edges of the furniture where Cathy usually was. "We can't actually give you a job, but like I said, there's a few places we can point you and they'd probably be more than happy to help."
Clarys brown furrowed and she had to resisted a sigh. Either he really had no idea what she was talking about or he was putting on an act. Either way, it was slightly annoying.
Standing up, she moved to walk over to the window and look outside. "So either you arrived here without knowing how or why, or you're here on vacation. Which is it?" because she wasn't going to play dumb games, at least she didn't think Cathy did.
"If you arrived here at random then you'd probably realize there's a lot of supernatural happening here. If not, then you probably think I'm crazy and you really don't need my help at all." cut right to the chase, but she wasn't about to start dishing out information on AI or Wolfram and Hart if he wasn't just going to be honest with her.
Clary glanced at the window as a few people walked by, and then she turned her attention back to him, gazing at him patiently, waiting for his answer. If he actually didn't need her help, she had cookies in the back that were going to want to be eaten soon. If he did, then she'd love to help him get on his feet.
