Faith listened to the story quietly, sipping at her coffee as she watched Nathan, trying to read his body language. Normally a skill she was exceptionally good at, with him it always took a bit more effort.
"They had exceptional attention to detail," her tone was a mixture of horrified and almost awe struck. It was undeniable how skilled Wolfram and Hart were when they wanted to be. "Made a lot of us very happy with our fake lives." She looked over her coffee mug at him, one eyebrow raised slightly. "You weren't a bad guy you know. Not really. You're one of the least puppetable," she paused with a faint frown. "Oh that is so a real word, anyway, least puppetable guys I know. Whatever happened before, I can't say, but the you I know now, definitely one of the good guys."
She smiled briefly at the idea of Heidi singing Sinatra and made a mental note to ask the woman to sing for her sometime. "Doesn't make you unfaithful either. Being married to this other woman or being tempted by Heidi singing. It wasn't under your control, any more than Dean being a priest or Spike being a Boy Scout or Sam being, y'know, British." Which was just weird. Very weird.
"How are the boys dealing with it?" On the one hand she was relieved that they had been with their father, but on the other, to drag them into something so messed up was just sick.
She half laughed ruefully, taking a longer sip of coffee. "I was married to a guy who was completely devoted to me. I remember our wedding. I remember loving him, we were talking about starting a family. And he was never even real. Never met him. Also, a real girly girl and fainted at the sight of a vampire," she shook her head. "Real blissful ignorance. Still, that's over with."
