"Just water, maybe? If you've got bottled?" Sam asked. He really wanted a beer, but he didn't need it, and it wouldn't really do much for his courage in this case. Water was a safer bet, and if he had a drink, he'd have something to occupy his hands. He preferred bottled water of the tap, because the tap just tasted off to him.
"I don't know how much you know about the whole thing, about Lucifer wanting to take me to prom, and the angels were after Dean to let Michael wear him, so we'd have this epic battle and either save or destroy the world." That was about as basic as he could state it, without going in to detail, and it wasn't because he thought Ellen wouldn't understand. The truth was, he didn't understand it completely himself. He'd come to Papillon before any of that happened, pr came to light. "But no way Dean was going to say yes. And I got it in my head that I'd let Lucifer in, and maybe hold on long enough to force him back into the pit. 'Course we needed a plan."
Sam made a face. This is where it got dicey. Because he didn't know which end was up. What he'd seen was a demon with Bill's face. Did that mean Bill was the demon? Was the demon wearing Bill like a cheap suit? Did Ellen know? Would she be angry? Sam had no doubt Ellen would put him in his place, whatever her knowledge about the situation.
