There was something terribly disconcerting about waking up with no idea where you were or, for that matter, who you were. But that's what had happened. He was on a sofa, where he had apparently fallen asleep, and there was a pretty redhead asleep next to him, but he didn't recognize her. He didn't recognize anything. He knew what everything was, but it didn't have any personal significance. He couldn't even say for sure what he looked like. Getting up, careful not to wake the woman, he went into the bathroom and just looked at himself. Messy dark hair, stubble, blue eyes...overall he didn't think he was unattractive, but it was weird to look at himself and not feel any recognition. Weirder still, this confusion felt familiar. He hated that the only thing that invoked any sort of familiarity in him was the sense of not knowing.
Going back to the redhead, he gently shook her shoulder. "Wake up," he said softly. This was hard without even knowing a name to call her. "Please wake up." He hoped that maybe she could give him some answers, but mostly he wanted to be sure that she was okay. There had to be a reason they'd both been passed out.
