She opened the door a crack to see two dark-furred, brown eyed, canine faces peering up at her expectantly; tails wagging, tongues lolling. One of them didn't have to look up nearly as far as the other, and that one was wagging his tail extra hard and acting especially friendly, as if trying to make up for his monstrous size be being gratuitously perky.
"Well," she said, letting the door swing open with her as she backed up, and several hundred combined pounds of dog poured into the bedroom, sniffing her hands. The bigger dog let out an almost sympathetic sound--or was that a petulant sound?--and gave her the biggest puppy dog eyes ever. "They might be a couple of monsters, but at least they seem to be friendly ones."
