Entry tags:!status: incomplete, ^date: november 18 2003, character: hermione granger, character: ron weasley

Who: Hermione and Ron (Others welcome)
What: Freaking out in St. Mungos
Where: St. Mungos
When: Nov. 18 8:30ish
Rating: Work safe

Hermione opened her eyes when she heard the noise around her. She could see people standing over her, but she didn't have time to wonder what was going on because she was overcome by the most intense pain she could remember feeling. She let out a whimper, because she found her voice was just about gone, but it was enough to alert the medi-witches and wizards around her that she was awake. One of them moved into her sight and explained to her that they had almost stopped the bleeding, and were getting ready to give her skelegro, but that didn't mean much to Hermione, as she had no idea why she was in St. Mungo's to begin with. Still, her lack of voice coupled with the medics advising her not to talk meant she wasn't able to get answers. She did however manage to whisper out "Ron," at one point, and someone knew enough to send word to him.

After a little bit more time, she was moved to another room to rest and recover. She could see that her body was covered in cuts and bruises, and they had applied some ointment to her face, so she had to assume there were at least one or two cuts on her face too, hopefully they weren't so deep they would scar. Hermione was freaking out a little, the fact that she couldn't remember anything scared her the most. Someone had kidnapped her, tortured her, then erased her memorie and dumped her in Hogsmede, leaving her for dead. When Ron showed up and appeared in her room, Hermione let loose the tears she'd been fighting back and tried to talk to him, but her throat was so sore, most likely from screaming.

Ron wasn't really sure what he was supposed to do. After Harry's death, he hadn't really mentally prepared himself for this sort of situation. He had thought that she was safe, tucked away in the Department of Mysteries yet here he was, looking down at her in the bed half broken and falling apart at the seams. Whether it was her or him falling apart right now, however, he didn't know.

Ron wanted to touch her, but he was afraid to do so because he didn't want to hurt her. He had no idea how badly she had been hurt - why she had been hurt - and the last thing he needed to do was add to her anguish. He sat down on the edge of the bed and set his hand on her arm lightly. "Mione," he said lowly, still not even sure how to speak to her. She was crying and he just didn't know how to handle this. It was Harry all over again. "I'm here, please don't cry. You're safe now."

Hermione couldn't help the tears that escaped her. They just kept coming, even though she tried to stop them. She took his hand, really not caring about the pain of broken fingers and bruises, she just needed to be in contact with him, to know she was really there and not dreaming.

"I can't remember," she whispered as loudly as she could manage. "I can't remember anything, Ron." It was more frustrating than all her injuries, just the fact that she had no idea what had happened to her.
