"It took significant research to discern the exact cause through the very subtle indicators given through the testing. The subtlety of the actual curse makes it particularly difficult to identify and treat, and I'm sure makes it particularly insidious. But as you can see it is as you describe it as something that may go undetected for extended periods, but drawing those around the person into a spiral of destruction--hence the name, the Spira Curse. You must have had some terrible and particularly dedicated enemies. It is a markedly difficult curse to perform, but is of course particularly devastating. And of course, if left untreated it only gets worse."
