Hermione stared at the new arrival, fairly certain this was the woman Ron had come up against in Penny's apartment. He hadn't given her a detailed description, but she did match the basic one she'd gotten out of him. And Marietta was working with her? That didn't bode well for Hermione, she knew Marietta hated her for what happened in their fifth year, but it had been her own fault, snitching on the group when Hermione had made it very clear that was not an option. She had a hard time feeling sorry for her when she had decided to side with Umbridge, of all people.
Still, if this was the woman that was killing all those people, then Hermione was really scared now. There was a good chance she wouldn't survive this encounter. Ron had gotten away because he'd taken her by surprise, and because he hadn't had a nightmare. And while Hermione didn't have a nightmare either, it seemed pretty obvious that she was being prepared for a preplanned night of entertainment, and she could only guess what that meant. It wouldn't end well for her, that was the bottom line. But the last thing she wanted to do was give them the satisfaction of being scared, and she would fight, for Ron, she would fight to get back to him, so she wouldn't leave him alone in this crappy world.
When the silencing charm was lifted, she was ready. "You are completely incapable of doing anything on your own, aren't you Marietta? First you had to get Umbridge to help you, now this woman. You really are disappointing, useless, and ugly with those scars on your face. Pity." Hermione wasn't holding back. She knew there was no way out of what they had in store for her, not while she was in a full body bind at least, so she might as well take a few shots while she was at it, because begging wouldn't get her anywhere with Marietta, and if that was Pandora, she had a feeling it wouldn't help her there either. But Pandora at least might respect some venom and not kill her.
