Ern was the true and typical conservative dueller, if anything it wasn't as interesting as it was quick and practical, using whatever was around and what his opponent threw at him. It was usually a safe measure of what was appropriate and what wasn't quite overboard when it came to a review of a case. What made it different typically was how it was used, timed, and spun.

He applied a clarity charm so that he can see his target and felt the force of the repelling charm. He moved to quickly recover from it and recognizing it in turn he threw a sneezing hex and a leg-locker curse in quick succession, in his pattern of distract and immobilize.
