Aggie had made a few floo calls that morning to friends in Knockturn, and still had no news on Greyback. She'd put in a request to Gaskin to see if she could assemble a small squad - perhaps made up of aurors and hit-wizards - to infiltrate the Forbidden Forest and try to find the werewolf, but had yet to hear back from him. She knew that Greyback was there, but she couldn't go alone.

As noon approached, her stomach reminded her she'd only had a piece of toast with her tea that morning before Apparating to work. She gathered her purse to head down to the cafeteria, but suddenly remembered that it was supposed to be Samara's first day back at work. She winced, thinking that her friend would certainly not be back so soon after her mother's death... but then this was Samara.

She took the lift to Samara's floor and, sure enough, there she was at a desk. Aggie sighed and walked over, looking down at her friend with concern. "You could have taken a day or two off, you know," she chastised gently.

Samara smiled. "I know, I know. It's not like that though. I don't want to look. I have everything I want," she replied, probably sounding sickening to some people, but she could only tell it how it was. She and Eli had always had an overtly strong bond that bordered on obsession for both of them, so the idea of going somewhere else or even looking somewhere else wasn't even a thought for her.

Samara gave a mock curtsy to her friend. "Why thank you, dear. I do try. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, even if there was a bit of a mishap afterward where the food was concerned." She still couldn't believe Jason came to them and said he had been helping with their plan. Apparently he wasn't quite so ignorant to their scheming as she thought. "I suppose that's what I get for letting Jase work with potions. But you spoke with Astoria, yes? She's very pleasant, isn't she?" Samara tried not to make too much of a face when she said it, but it was obvious that she and Astoria weren't best mates or anything. "I think you, Kin and I need to get together again soon. It has been a while since we spent some time together!"

In the cafeteria Samara considered her options. She didn't feel particularly tired; really she'd been quite wired since she got to work. "I think tea will do for me, thanks."

"Well you know what to do with Jason, don't you? Tell him I'll arrest him if he does something like that again. Some of us have to chase down werewolves, you know, and it's rather hard when you're feeling ill." Despite her words, her half-smile revealed just how much she adored the boy.

"Astoria's all right. We've worked together before, and she's professional. That's all you can ask for, honestly. I definitely have a hard time seeing a family resemblance, though. And yes, the three of us need to catch up. The trick will be to get all of our schedules to mesh."

She poured a tea for Samara and a coffee for herself, then grabbed a couple of chocolate croissants. If Samara didn't eat hers, Aggie would gladly eat both of them. She stopped by the register to pay then led the way to a free table in a more quiet corner.

"Eat," she commanded playfully, placing one of the croissants on a napkin in front of Samara. "Can't have your husband hex me for letting you starve, after all."
