WIZARD COMMITS SUICIDE IN HOGSMEADE
By Betty Brathwaite
HOGSMEADE - The DMLE were contacted sortly after 2am by Miranda Leeke, who had been unable to sleep and gone to the kitchen, only to find her son Drakken's hand on the family clock pointing to Mortal Peril. A small squad of hit-wizards were dispatched to the young man's residence, only to find his body lying on the ground with his head in pieces and his wand in his hand. A prior incantato found that the last spell cass was a diffindo that Leeke cast upon himself.

A note was found near the body, explaining how he had been having terrible nightmares every two nights that he could no longer endure, and that he preferred to go out on his own terms before falling victim to the witch who has killed so many in so little time.

The Daily Prophet extends its sympathy to the Leeke family, and offers hope that the Aurors will some day find the evidence that will lead them to the murderer of the magical community's loved ones.

ANNUAL FALL FESTIVAL IN FINAL PREPARATION STAGES

HOGSMEADE - The Annual Fall Festival is upon us again for the 57th year. Originally a celebration of the defeat of Gellert Grindelwald, the festival has evolved over the years into one of Hogsmeade's premiere events, combining entertainment with history, storytelling, and good food and drink.

Organizers have kept the details of the festival secret, but promise to release them before the start on Wednesday so that they can be published in The Daily Prophet. The festival as usual will run from Wednesday until Saturday.

FOLLOW-UP: DEAN THOMAS FOUND AT ST. MUNGO'S

LONDON - Dean Thomas, who has been missing since the death of Fiona Finnigan, was found among the patients at St. Mungo's late Saturday night. He had arrived earlier in the evening only to immediately fall unconscious, and had thus not been identified prior to his finally awaking enough to provide his name to the healers. Thomas' state upon his arrival was critical, but he is expected to eventually make a full recovery.

The Aurors, after a lengthy interview, have dismissed Thomas as a suspect in Finnigan's murder.
