The Smiths were somewhat unique, that in all of the Pureblood families forced to pick sides one way or the other over the course of two wars, they had honestly remained neutral. Zacharias had little delusions as to what the Burkes might busy themselves with, but his family name in true Hufflepuff fashion had stayed out of the fray. It didn't necessarily make him righteous, but it gave him an odd sort of ground to stand on. There was also the fact that when it came down to it, he really didn't want to impress Arabesque. As far as he was concerned he had nothing to prove to her, although she seemed poised to prove something to him.
"Not that I'm saying they are the same, but I would hate to look back on history and see this as a moment where something could have been said to prevent almost thirty years of conflict. Especially as I was a member of the group when it was first formed." That was well before their days of painting 'Dumbledore's Army Still Recruiting' on walls, trying to steal things, and saying things in class to incite the Carrows.
Admitting again to his own participation in the group was only to see how the pair of them would act. So sure that this little group was in the wrong, when here was one of the original members in their living room, drinking their tea. "However, I doubt you invited me over solely to discuss one opinion piece aired on the wireless."
