Characters: Anthony & Zacharias
Setting: 14 November (Friday) @ 5:15PM.
Summary: Accidental run-ins, yay!
Rating: Safe for work, we're sure.

Anthony would have liked nothing more than to go straight to his flat and sleep well into the evening. If he could, at least. Ever since he'd managed to tear himself from the nightmare as it had returned the night before, it had sort of just... lingered with him. Almost as if no matter how hard he could have tried to actually concentrate on something neutral - like work, for instance - it just didn't work. It had been no better when it came to those topics he'd wanted to do some research for, either. Which meant that the only thing he'd managed to do all day was owl Michael while still panicking about how awful it had been. Usually, when he woke up, it still bothered him, but in a way where he was able to quickly realise that it hadn't been him, it had really been someone else; there had been no such realisation today.

All in all, Anthony felt less people-ready than his usual, and if it wasn't for the fact that he was very much sure that he had nothing in his flat to eat and should just buy some takeaway, he would have gone straight home. Thinking on his options, though, he was distracted and not doing very well at watching where he was going - the main reason he walked straight into someone else.

"Sorry, I - " He stopped when he saw who it was he'd knocked into. "Sorry."

Anthony wasn't really sure about how much he wanted to actually do this, considering that he was very fond of not staying out of trouble, and he generally just sort of avoided it when it could - unless Michael was the one dragging him into something, but that was Michael. But he was still curious, and considering that they had actually made it to the alleyway, it just seemed sort of... wrong to not figure out what exactly was being hidden.

Being sure that his wand was well within reach if necessary, he matched Zacharias' glance with a shrug and took the first step inside the alley. He looked around and almost immediately froze in place as he found what what was possibly the reason for the spell. Was that a - fuck.

It could have been ironic, that Zacharias nearly walked into Anthony as he stopped short. It would have been ironic and maybe even worth a good chuckle if that wasn't a body. "You're fucking kidding me," he said reflexively. And not even a slutty muggle to make this better and worse at the same time.

How was this his life? At least this body wasn't as body, although it did seem to have been picked at by something. He didn't recognize the woman. "She's dead, isn't she?" And it looked like there had been some sort of struggle and quite the hole in the middle of the alleyway.

Anthony's reaction was a bit more wide-eyed shock than having anything to say. Not that he hadn't ever seen a body before; he had. But that had been more than five years ago at the Battle of Hogwarts and it had been sort of expected what with fighting for his life that some people might die. This was different, since no one was expecting to find a dead body in an alleyway in Diagon Alley. It just wasn't... normal. The current situation being what it was didn't make that any less true.

He didn't exactly see it as a positive, but he was sort of grateful not to recognise the woman as anyone he'd know. And he guessed she probably hadn't gone very easily, either. "I'd say, with the open eyes and the blank stare and the lack of movement, she's definitely, definitely dead."
