Agatha nodded. "That saves me from giving you the bad news, then. I've been assigned to the case, and I wanted to stop and see if he's had the nerve to come close this soon."
The young woman's body language wasn't hard to read, it screamed fear. She wished she had some news to change that, but she didn't, and she wasn't exactly known for being overly compassionate. She could sympathize, but her job was to catch the animal that might come after her, not to coddle her.
