Michael rolled his eyes and looked at Marietta again. "That sounds about right. That's how the lovely Marietta operates, doesn't she? Smiles at your face while spewing poison out of her sneaky little mouth. Unless Cho is around, that is. Then she'll pretend she's your best bloody friend, won't she? Why is that, Marietta?"
Marietta narrowed her eyes at Michael and resisted the urge to stick her tongue out at him, though truly she would rather hex him at that point. "It's none of your bloody business why I'm friends with Cho, Corner. And don't consider yourself so noble, you make just as many pathetic jabs at me as I've made at you."
"I was never rude to you until you started making outlandish accusations toward me whenever Cho wasn't around to hear them!" Michael objected, and really, this was an old argument that didn't even matter at this point. He and Cho weren't dating anymore nor were they even meant for one another anyhow. It wasn't ever going to work out to begin with, but Marietta had certainly made the experience an unpleasant one for him. If it wasn't for the fact that he'd seen it for himself, he would think that you were a liar if you said that they were friends. "I didn't come here to argue with you about school relationships, Marietta. You were a bint back then and you still are now. Why are you bothering Anthony?"
Michael did not like to see anyone bullied, but he would never stand for anyone bullying his friends and he got a little too hot headed when it came to people messing with Anthony, probably because he was so timid about confrontation to begin with. Michael had made a habit of sticking his nose in when anyone was bothering him no matter what it might have to do with and it was a rather hard habit to break.
