"Well isn't this just rich," Marietta crooned when she saw Michael strolling up to Anthony's side. "Honestly Anthony, don't you go anywhere without your bodyguard? It's like the moment you can't speak for yourself he just - appears!" Marietta made a 'poofing' motion with her hands. "Have you a bell on your neck or does he just know when you might be in danger?"
Michael was glaring at her now, not that she really cared. She rolled her eyes. "Michael, we were talking just fine without you here, thanks. You do know that Anthony has a mind of his own, yes? He can actually walk and talk without you and he doesn't need you around to speak for him every time someone comes round who may not agree with him. Believe it or not, he's a big boy."
"I know that just fine, Edgecombe. What I don't know is why the hell you feel the need to bother people who quite obviously don't want to speak to you," Michael retorted.
"We were having a perfectly civil conversation about the current goings-on of the wizarding world and your stupid little secret society before you decided to stroll in and save the day, Corner, so I'm really not sure what the problem is here, to be quite honest, besides your boorish personality and rude behaviour. Maybe you should get the full story before you come rushing in to blame people for things you know nothing about." Marietta glared right back at him, because if there was one boyfriend of Cho's she could never stand, it was definitely Michael Corner and his holier than thou attitude. Even next to Harry Bloody Potter this bloke had more of a sodding hero complex than anyone she'd ever seen.
Michael looked questioningly over at his friend, still standing more closely to him than was probably needed.
