Anthony had been just about to correct Marietta and let her know that, technically, Lavender wasn't even actually his friend. She was like... an acquaintance. And acquaintance who his best mate was having a Situation with. It wasn't as if he could ever say that he regularly started up conversations with her, right? (Which, admittedly, with that definition made his list of friends very, very short.) All thoughts of correcting her fled once she was invading her personal space. If there was one thing Anthony had counted on, it was people other than Michael respecting his personal space. He had never counted Michael as it just didn't seem to make sense to include someone who always went ahead and let himself into another person's flat whenever he felt like it. Marietta, however, was someone Anthony wanted far, far away from his personal bubble. And not just because of the fact that everything she was saying creeped him out a bit.
His once only slightly suspicious frown deepened and darkened when she poked him. It was if she had decided that since he didn't like confrontation, he was going to just let her say whatever she felt like to him, no argument from him. He'd never seen the point much before as Michael had always been quick to defend him, but that didn't make him incapable of doing it his damn self.
"One - I have no idea what you're talking about in regards to banding together with anyone. Not that I would tell you even if there actually was anything happening. Two - if you're confused as to what was off about what you did considering that it distinctly went against the agreement you signed, I've no idea what to tell you. Three - we trust and work for the Ministry now because it's headed by someone we trust. There's the difference." There was every bit of a chance that she was lying in regards to Cho, but Anthony couldn't tell for sure, so instead, he quietly said, "You made and continue to make your own choices. The result you get for them is all your own."
Though he found the fact that she had purposely steered the conversation towards the DA noteworthy. For later. Right now, he just wanted to get the fuck away.
