Marietta raised an eyebrow as she listened to him. "Everything else...interesting. I suppose it has been rather chaotic lately, hasn't it?" Marietta said, snapping the book shut in her hands without warning and tossing it back on the shelves without much care. She turned to face him. "I mean, with your friend Lavender Brown's flat being broken into and all these murders by the supposed Pandora...I guess it would have anyone - on edge."
Marietta leaned in a bit closer, crowding his space more than anyone who wasn't familiar with one another rightly should so she could whisper for him to be able to hear and said, "And how are you and your little friends doing, Anthony? Banding together to try and save the day once again? Minus myself and Zacharias, of course - now those two can't be trusted, can they? Zacharias has shown time and time again that he's a right twat. But I don't know why on earth you lot don't think I can't be trusted. I haven't done anything but tell the truth to the Ministry. I mean, don't half of you lot now work for the Ministry? Honestly and you call me a hypocrite." Marietta poked him in the chest and then backed away from him again to give him some breathing room because she knew that he was probably going to hyperventilate at some point if she stayed too close to him.
She kept her voice low, however, as she continued. "And Cho still trusts me and she's part of your precious DA. So I don't see what the big fuss is all about. You think she's not going to tell me what you're up to?" Marietta laughed merrily, though the truth was that while Cho was honest about being in touch with the DA, she did not divulge the information of what the actually spoke about in depth. Marietta was a good liar though, so this was nothing new for her to pretend otherwise. "And what's to stop me from letting Zacharias in on the fun too - or are we not important enough to save this go round? Are the memories in my head giving me nightmares not as dangerous as the ones in yours?" She was speaking in general of the DA at that point, not of Anthony in particular, but she remembered him writing in Lavender's journal entry about the database being stolen so she had a feeling that he had one of the memories too.
