Hermione offered Lavender an encouraging smile. "Of course I think we can do it. Do you remember the things we managed when the DA first started? Some of those spells we all mastered were far beyond what would have been considered our skill level at the time. It's just building on past knowledge, with a bit of work it shouldn't be too hard." Hermione, while yes, she was smarter than a lot of people, had full confidence in everyone in the DA to be able to perform these spells.
"I've never done it myself, often wondered how it is done, and how much harder it would be, but we weren't really in close quarters with the Order that year, so we missed that lesson. George got it though, he seems pretty sure that we can manage it." She didn't mention too much of why they hadn't been there. No doubt Lavender knew exactly where they'd been, everyone did at that point, but none of them ever talked about it that much, so those months spent hunting horcruxes were a bit of a mystery to the outside world. And the time when Ron had been gone... well now only Hermione knew exactly what had happened then. That thought choked her up a little, and she looked away from Lavender and quickly wiped a tear away that had escaped.
