Theodore himself wasn't particularly fond of blood, hence the small sample--or the least amount necessary to elicit whatever reaction. He wordlessly performed a cleaning spell on the blade that only manifested itself in a puff of steam before he deftly drew the knife across a finger. The open phial between his other fingers as he counted the drops before closing it, swirling it twice, and putting it back into the suitcase. "It should complete be heated for a short period after sitting for a few hours." He had an idea of the preliminary reading though as it turned a deep blue. There wasn't anything detectable going on. He'd probably have to process it further, but there wasn't likely anything going on. He had considered that before taking out his wand to heal the wound and moving to the next item.
