As he explained himself, she felt bad about how she'd reacted. She couldn't have reacted any other way, but it still made her feel bad about it. "I'm sorry," she began. "It's just, not everyone's so open-minded. You wouldn't believe the things I overhear at the club, about women who are 'sluts' and who 'get around', and even worse, about Justin. I swear the only thing keeping me from hitting some of them is knowing I'd be kicked out of the club and never allowed to work there again."
She sighed and reached out for George's hand. "Maybe I've been exposed to the bad stuff a little too long. I promise, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt before making any assumptions. Do you forgive me?"
